I recieved the EC2 controller from Real World Solutions in yesterday's mail so went right to work getting it hooked up.  While waiting for the unit I had completed all the re-wiring and system changes so installation of the EC2 was pretty easy.  The Soob fired right up this afternoon and ran nicely considering that no tuning work has been performed on the EC2.  Quite a lot to do over the next week or two before flying.  Lots of tuning work and just ground running to gain confidence and get used to the new control panel.

After the head and camshaft changes, I started having wide-open throttle problems.  It seems that the stock EFI system could not accomodate the changes.  So, I ordered an EC2 system from Tracy Crook at Real World Solutions.  While waiting for the unit to arrive, I have rewired the system to accomodate the new unit and waiting.... 

The past few weeks I've been working on rebuilt heads and a new cam grind.  I removed the heads from my spare EJ-22 and sent them in for reconditioning.  The cams went to Delta for their 220 grind.  I recieved everything back last week, yesterday I spent the day in the shop removing the existing heads and installing the new.  It all went pretty smoothly and I did not have to remove the engine from the airplane which was a big plus.

Today I ran the engine for about 40 minutes on the ground. No leaks and no problems.  The engine sounds slightly meatier but that's purely subjective. More...

I installed a new tailwheel on the Q a week or two ago.  This new unit is a little larger but much more rubber and much softer.  I REALLY like the way it feels on the runway - it is much quieter/softer but also seems more "sticky".  That is purely a feeling and not fact.  The old, hard wheel just seemed to slide really easy where this one doesn't.  A bit more info here. 

Also installed new main gear tires.  I used the Lamb tires which are a bit shorter than the original Q2 tires but they are working fine.
